About
Korzus have been at the sharp end of Brazilian thrash metal since they first surfaced in São Paulo in 1983. Their early track "Guerreiros do Metal" became a genuine anthem for Brazilian headbangers and launched them onto the national scene, leading to a live album in 1986. The real turning point came with Mass Illusion in 1991, which sent them on their first European tour across France, Italy, England, and Germany. They kept building from there: the 1995 album KZS was produced by Steve Evetts, who had also worked with Sepultura and Skid Row, and their 2004 record Ties Of Blood featured guest spots from André Matos and Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser. Over the decades they played Monsters Of Rock, toured the US with Biohazard and S.O.D., appeared at Rock in Rio in 2011, and had their history chronicled in a full book released in 2019. Their album Discipline of Hate, released in 2010 through German label AFM Records, went out worldwide, and in 2017 Loudwire placed them among the 10 best bands from Latin America. They have been a persistent, hard working force in South American metal, showing no signs of slowing down.
