Kyrre Gørvell Dahll, who records as Kygo, built one of the most striking early careers in electronic music on the back of a string of remixes that spread fast across YouTube and SoundCloud. His rework of Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire" in late 2013 caught serious attention, and by December 2015 he had become the fastest artist in Spotify history to hit one billion streams. His tropical house sound, warm and piano driven, gave him a run of big singles including "Firestone" with Conrad Sewell, "Stole the Show" with Parson James, and "It Ain't Me" with Selena Gomez. His debut album Cloud Nine arrived in May 2016, and that same summer he performed at the closing ceremony of the Rio Olympics, the first house music producer ever to do so. Albums followed with Kids in Love in 2017 and a self titled record in 2024, which included the singles "Whatever" and "For Life". More recently he teamed up with Imagine Dragons on "Stars Will Align", continuing a run that shows no sign of slowing down.
