About
Also known as: Holly Lapsley Fletcher, Holly Låpsley Fletcher
Låpsley, the stage name of Holly Lapsley Fletcher from York, built her early following through bedroom recordings uploaded to SoundCloud, racking up over half a million listens before most people had heard her name. That momentum earned her a spot on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury in 2014, a BBC Sound of 2015 long list nod, and a deal with XL Recordings. Her debut album Long Way Home arrived in 2016, the same year her track "8896" appeared on the soundtrack to Andrea Arnold's film American Honey. Her sound sits somewhere across art pop, electronic and alternative R&B, and her single "Love Is Blind" landed her a live performance on NBC's Today show. She also performs under her full name Holly Låpsley Fletcher, with the Å a nod to her perceived Scandinavian ties through Scottish heritage.
