About
Lawn Chair is a Berlin band fronted by singer Claudia Schlutius, originally from Seattle. Their sound pulls together postpunk urgency, cutting guitars, punchy basslines and pulsing synths, with enough hooks and danceable energy to keep things from getting too po faced. Think somewhere in the orbit of Snooper, Beck and Devo and you're in the right ballpark. They've put out two EPs and a full album, with production credits split between Olaf Opal, known for his work with The Notwist and International Music, and Chris Coady, who has produced for Beach House and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Their live shows are a big part of their reputation, and they've built a following across Germany and the UK on the back of performances that lean hard into the physical, high energy side of their music.
