About
Three brothers, three ouds, one unmistakable sound. Le Trio Joubran, originally from Nazareth, are Samir, Wissam, and Adnan Joubran, and together they form the world's first oud trio. Their music draws from traditional Palestinian and Arab musical traditions, and they split their time between Nazareth, Ramallah, and Paris. The trio came together officially in August 2004, though eldest brother Samir had already been building a solo career since the mid 1990s. Over the years they have built an impressive body of work, from the atmospheric Majâz to the celebrated AsFâr featuring Dhafer Youssef. Film soundtracks are another strong suit, earning them Arab Muhr awards at the Dubai International Film Festival for two separate films. In 2019 they reached a wider global audience when British rock band Coldplay brought them in to contribute to the song Arabesque on the album Everyday Life, a track that leaned heavily into Arabic musical influences.
