About
Leaving Time are a shoegaze and alternative rock group from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 2020. The members, Joel Cedeno, Nick Dilts, Jarod Whalen, and Reed Cothren, had previously played together in various outfits including True Form and Method of Doubt, but Leaving Time carves out a noticeably different sonic space. Drawing from the classic 1990s alternative rock and shoegaze tradition, the band layers in their own touches: whirling guitar leads and drums with a hardcore urgency give their songs a propulsive energy that pushes well past the typical shoegaze template. They record on Sunday Drive Records, working with Gainesville producer John Howard, who helmed both their self titled release and EP II. Their debut album, Angel in the Sand, earned strong notice from music press, praised as a confident and fully realized first record.
