Ledbyher (GB)

About

Ledbyher is a London based rapper, singer, producer and filmmaker who moves between UK jerk, drill, neo soul and grunge. She pairs a husky voice with synths and rough, intimate productions, and she describes her own sound as "bedroom drill" or "lady trap": soulful melodies sitting on top of restless rhythms, all with a raw DIY feel. Born Rachel Aisyah Diack, she is Indonesian and Scottish, and her lyrics draw as much on poetry and film as on drill. Heartbreak, longing and survival run through her songs, with very personal words set over trap beats. Her mixtape The Elephant gathers these ideas into dreamy rap, saxophone led melodies and guitar driven tracks. She handles the writing, the production, the videos and the artwork herself, so the whole world around the music is hers.
