About

Also known as: 라잇썸

Lightsum came out of Cube Entertainment as the label's first new girl group since (G)I dle, debuting in June 2021 with the single album Vanilla. Several members arrived with competition show experience: Juhyeon from The Unit, and Chowon, Nayoung and Yujeong from Produce 48. Chowon's story is a notable one, since it later came out that her real ranking was 6th, which would have put her in Iz*One. The group started as eight members and became six in late 2022 when Huiyeon and Jian left. Since then they've kept moving: the EPs Into the Light, with lead single Alive, and Honey or Spice, plus the digital single Pose! in 2024. A sub unit of Sangah, Chowon and Juhyeon also remade BtoB's Beautiful Pain. These days the group is active in Japan, where they've released their Japanese debut Re:idol, and they've also posted a cover of Golden from HUNTR/X on their YouTube channel.
