Lilly Wood & The Prick (FR)

About

Also known as: Lilly Wood, Lily Wood & The Prick, Lily wood

Lilly Wood and the Prick built their reputation on delicate folk pop before landing an unexpected smash with 'Prayer in C', a track from their 2010 debut album Invincible Friends that went viral after German DJ Robin Schulz gave it a remix treatment. The resulting wave of attention pushed the duo, Nili Hadida and Benjamin Cotto, well beyond their French indie roots and into charts across Europe. Their win at the Victoires de la Musique, beating out a packed field of French acts, showed they were already a serious force before the remix even happened. Their sound has kept shifting with each record. The Fight landed in 2012, Shadows followed in 2016 with more experimental textures, and their most recent album Most Anything leaned further into new rhythms and a bolder sonic palette. The duo even released a Spanish version of the single 'You Want My Money', suggesting they are not done pushing into new territory.
