Los Angeles, The Voices is a Dutch vocal group built around three classically and musically trained male singers: Richy Brown, Roy van den Akker, and Peter William Strykes. Their sound sits somewhere between the operatic pop of Il Divo and the Dutch warmth of Marco Borsato, a combination that clearly struck a chord: their debut album sold over 25,000 copies fast enough to earn them a gold record at their very first concert, held at the sold out Carré theatre in Amsterdam. The group was founded in 2010 by Gordon, who stepped away in 2013 to focus on his own career. Remko Harms followed in 2016, leaving the trio in its current form. Along the way they took a shot at representing Switzerland at Eurovision with the songs Wild White Horses and Change Is Gonna Come, though they did not make the final. Several members of the group have since competed on The Voice of Holland as solo artists. By 2019, the group had quietly wound down, with its members now performing individually.
