About
Louis the Child picked their name by clicking Wikipedia's random article button and landing on a historic figure, which is honestly a pretty good origin story for a duo that built their sound almost entirely on happy accidents and instinct. Robby Hauldren and Frederic Kennett, both from Chicago, met at a Madeon concert in 2012 and fused their skills in DJing and production into a bright, feel good strain of electronic music that sits somewhere between future bass, pop and dance. Their 2015 single "It's Strange" was the real breakthrough, earning a shoutout from Taylor Swift and landing on the FIFA 16 soundtrack. From there they went on to open for The Chainsmokers and Madeon, headline a 32 show tour, and rack up over 100 million Spotify streams on "Better Not" featuring Wafia. A Red Rocks headline slot and an X Games performance followed, cementing them as one of electronic music's more reliably feel good acts.
