About
Louisiana Heat is a collective built around the music of New Orleans, that melting pot of funk, second line and rhythm and blues. Their repertoire draws on the funk of The Meters and The Neville Brothers, the second line sound of Dr. John and Earl King, and the uptempo R&B of Robert Parker and Huey 'Piano' Smith. They mix those influences with songs of their own. The musicians didn't come out of nowhere. They have played with various acts at major roots festivals across the Benelux, toured Europe, and made albums with American blues artists including Boyd Small, Byther Smith, Roscoe Chenier, Junior Mack and Nathan James. That experience feeds into a danceable, warm sound that keeps the New Orleans party spirit alive.
