About
Lucy Woodward is a singer songwriter with a voice that moves easily between soul, pop and jazz, and her live shows balance raw energy with genuinely intimate moments. She has sung backing vocals for Rod Stewart, Céline Dion and Barbra Streisand, toured with Michael League's Snarky Puppy, and recorded with producer Tony Visconti. Her appearance on the Grammy winning Snarky Puppy album Family Dinner Vol. 1, performing 'Too Hot To Last', brought her to a wider international audience. Her collaborative work with guitarist Charlie Hunter produced two well received albums: Music! Muziek! Music! and I'm a Stranger Here. Her self titled album with The Rocketeers, released on GroundUP Music, pairs the band's tight interplay with an eighteen piece multicultural jazz orchestra. The Rocketeers, made up of Jelle Roozenburg, Niek de Bruijn and Udo Pannekeet, provide a grounded yet playful backdrop where jazz phrasing and odd time signatures hide inside songs that feel completely direct and alive.
