About
Maddie & Tae made a real statement right out of the gate with "Girl in a Country Song", a sharp takedown of the bro country trend that was everywhere in 2014. It shot to number one on the Country Airplay chart, making them the first female duo to top that chart with a debut single since The Wreckers back in 2006. Both Maddie Font and Taylor "Tae" Kerr write and play guitar, and their debut album Start Here arrived in 2015 with a run of singles including "Fly" and "Shut Up and Fish". They kept the momentum going after switching to Mercury Nashville, scoring another number one with "Die from a Broken Heart" in 2019 and opening for Carrie Underwood on her Cry Pretty Tour 360. Their second album The Way It Feels came out in 2020, followed by the two part Through the Madness in 2022. They released their third full album Love & Light in 2025 before announcing the duo was calling it quits, with their final performance together in April 2026.
