About
Also known as: マデオン
Few producers have kicked off a career quite like Madeon did. The French electronic artist from Nantes went viral at 17 after uploading a YouTube video called 'Pop Culture', a live mashup of 39 songs performed in real time on a Novation Launchpad. Millions of views in days, and suddenly the world knew his name. His influences, the Beatles and Daft Punk, give you a decent sense of where he sits: melodic, precise, and rooted in the craft of pop songwriting as much as club music. His debut album Adventure arrived in 2015, hitting number one on the US Dance and Electronic Albums chart, and he later collaborated with Porter Robinson on 'Shelter', earning a nomination for Single of the Year at the Electronic Music Awards. His second album Good Faith came out in 2019 and picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Electronic Album. He has also worked with Lady Gaga, contributing to three tracks on her album Artpop, and his music has turned up in everything from Forza Horizon to FIFA 13.
