About
Mammoth Mammoth's sound has been summed up as 'Motorhead doing mushrooms with Black Sabbath backstage at a Butt Hole Surfers concert', which tells you pretty much everything you need to know about this Melbourne hard rock outfit. Formed in 2006, they built their name on ferociously chaotic live shows, earning bans from two Melbourne venues along the way. Frontman Mikey Tucker is notorious for throwing himself into crowds and, on one occasion, headbutting a glass window at The Tote Hotel mid set and finishing the show covered in blood. Musically, they describe their songwriting as 'four guys in a boxing ring with no referee', blending stoner, doom, glam, punk and psychedelic rock into something that hits hard and doesn't apologise for it. Signing to Napalm Records after Volume III: Hell's Likely won over European audiences, they've since rolled out a string of albums including Volume IV: Hammered Again and Volume V: Mount The Mountain, plus tours alongside John Garcia, Sleep, Black Label Society and Rose Tattoo.
