About
Marc Houle is a Canadian electronic music producer and live act based out of Windsor, Ontario, whose sound sits somewhere between Detroit techno and Chicago house, with a heavy dose of new wave synth textures and vintage video game energy. He has described it himself as a cross between those two cities, and once you hear it, that framing makes complete sense. His debut album Bay of Figs came out on Richie Hawtin's Minus label, where Houle became a core member after Hawtin caught wind of his productions through fellow artist Magda. What sets Houle apart as a performer is that he works as a live act rather than a DJ, building his sets from his own productions and remixes in real time. In 2011 he co founded the independent label Items & Things alongside Magda and Troy Pierce, stepping out of the Minus orbit to run things on his own terms.
