About

San Diego born bassist Marco Mendoza has spent decades threading his way through some of rock's most storied bands. He kicked off his professional career playing for former Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward, and from there built a resume that includes stints with Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Ted Nugent, Lynch Mob, and The Dead Daisies. His first solo album Live for Tomorrow, produced and co written by Richie Kotzen, brought in guests like Steve Lukather and Ted Nugent, and his catalog has grown steadily since, with Viva La Rock and Take It To The Limit following over the years. When he is not busy with a major touring act, Mendoza keeps a foot in jazz fusion through his trio Mendoza Heredia Neto, a long running Tuesday night residency at a Los Angeles jazz club that resulted in the live album Live in L.A. He co founded Black Star Riders out of the Thin Lizzy camp in 2012, later joined Neal Schon's Journey Through Time, and more recently has been touring regularly with fusion guitarist Roman Miroshnichenko. In 2022 he also took on bassist and vocalist duties for Russian rockers Gorky Park.
