About
Martyn, the alias of Dutch producer and DJ Martijn Deijkers, has spent decades threading together techno, jungle, dubstep, and drum and bass into a sound that resists easy categorisation. Based in Washington D.C., he got his start in the drum and bass scene before a Kode9 record pulled him toward dubstep territory, and that restless cross genre curiosity has defined his work ever since. His first 12 inch singles landed in 2005, and his debut album Great Lengths followed in 2009. His second album Ghost People came out in 2011 on Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label, which told you something about where his music was sitting at the time: cerebral, atmospheric, and not quite like anything else around. He also contributed Fabric 50 to the respected Fabric Mix series. Since then he has kept releasing records, with Voids arriving in 2018 and a fifth studio album, Music for Existing, listed for 2026.
