About
Also known as: Mathew William Kearney, Matt Kearney, Matt Kearny
Mat Kearney has been blending pop, rock and rap in a way that feels genuinely his own since he started making waves out of Nashville in the mid 2000s. His major label debut Nothing Left to Lose sold over 450,000 copies, and the follow up City of Black and White debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200, with the single Closer to Love picking up serious airplay on both secular and Christian radio. He has racked up five top 20 hits on the Adult Top 40 chart, toured alongside John Mayer, Sheryl Crow and Keane, and had tracks placed on Grey's Anatomy and NCIS. Over the years Kearney has kept things moving at a steady pace, releasing albums like Young Love, Just Kids and Crazytalk before dropping a self titled record in 2024 on Middle Kid Records. His sound mixes melodic songwriting with touches of spoken word and rap, giving his music a warmth and intimacy that keeps fans coming back. Recent uploads point to new material still flowing, with Good Thing Going On appearing in early 2024.
