About

Also known as: Matt Rollins, Matthew Charles Rollings

Matt Rollings has spent decades as one of Nashville's most in demand keyboard players, racking up ten ACM Keyboardist of the Year wins and eight CMA Musician of the Year nominations during his run as a session musician from 1986 to 2006. His name keeps turning up in genuinely varied company: he's a fixture in Lyle Lovett's Large Band, toured the world with Mark Knopfler across multiple years, and took home Grammy wins for producing Willie Nelson's Summertime: Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin and My Way: Willie Nelson Sings Sinatra. His own recordings lean into jazz. Balconies came out in 1990 and featured John Patitucci and Carlos Vega, and in 2023 he released The Valentine Sessions, a jazz trio record with David Piltch on bass. In between, his 2020 album Matt Rollings Mosaic brought together Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, and Alison Krauss, among others. He also produced Blues Traveler's thirteenth album Hurry Up and Hang Around and arranged Rita Wilson's duets album Now and Forever, which featured Keith Urban, Elvis Costello, Smokey Robinson, and more.
