About
MAYA writes songs the way other people tell stories, drawing on piano, guitar and a loop station to build her sound from the ground up. Her music sits in intimate indie folk territory, with lyrics in both English and Dutch that don't shy away from darker themes while keeping a thread of humour and hope running through them. She has been described as a rebel with a purpose, and that tension between the raw and the hopeful shapes everything she does. Her debut EP is titled For Those Who Hope.
