About
Dutch cellist Mayke Rademakers has built a career around some serious teachers. She worked with André Navarra in Vienna, then William Pleeth in London, and later János Starker on a Fulbright grant, finishing her studies at the Academy of Music in Utrecht cum laude. Since then she has played recitals, chamber music concerts, broadcasts and solo shows across Europe, plus a stint at the Aspen Festival. A big part of her story is her duo with pianist Matthijs Verschoor. Together they picked up a silver medal from the Societé Academique Arts, Sciences, Lettres in Paris for their dedication to French music. On record she has put out Bosmans & Bridge, an all Bach album, and Stagioni, and she made her debut on Challenge Records International in 2015. These days she also plays with the Gauguin Ensemble alongside pianist Loes van Ras and clarinetist Yfynke Hoogeveen.
