Mike and the Moonpies built a devoted following the old fashioned way, through a Monday night residency at The Hole in the Wall, a dive bar near the University of Texas in Austin. The neotraditional country and Americana band grew from a loose recording project into a tight knit outfit, releasing a string of albums that sit firmly in the honky tonk tradition. A standout moment came in 2020 with Touch of You: The Lost Songs of Gary Stewart, a collection of unreleased songs by the legendary honky tonk songwriter, featuring a collaboration with Mark Wystrach of Midland. They made their Grand Ole Opry debut in 2022, a milestone for any act working in this corner of country music. In 2024 the band rebranded as Silverada, a name frontman Mike Harmeier had been mulling for over a decade, and released a self titled album to mark the fresh start.
