Miller

About

Also known as: Alton Glen Miller, Alton Glenn Miller, G. Miller, Glen Miller, Miller

Miller is a six piece band that grew out of an earlier group called Dear Mrs. Miller. After a few changes in the lineup, it settled on Guus Brinkmans, John Minten, Geert Josten, Mike Buise, Roy Verbeek and Twan Versteegen, all seasoned players. The repertoire leans on Americana songs, with Irish folk grown into a big influence along the way. Now and then a forgotten gem turns up, the kind of tune that makes you say you haven't heard that one in ages. The sound is mostly acoustic, built from guitar, mandolin, banjo, accordion, flute and double bass, topped with layered vocal harmonies. It's warm, singalong music, and the band has clearly found a sound of its own.
