About
Miriana Conte spent close to a decade knocking on Eurovision's door before it finally opened. The Maltese pop singer first entered the national selection in 2017 with "Don't Look Down" and kept coming back, with a talent show detour on X Factor Malta in between, where she co founded the group 4th Line and later tried her luck as a soloist. She also joined a group of Maltese artists on "Roll the Dice", the anthem of Malta's Pride Week in 2019. Her persistence paid off in 2025, when she won the Maltese final with "Kant", taking the televote along the way. Then came a row: after a complaint reportedly raised by the BBC, the EBU asked for the title word to go, which angered many in Malta, including PBS, government officials and fellow musicians. The song became "Serving" for the contest, and Conte took it to the Grand Final in Basel, finishing 17th with 91 points.
