About
Miso Extra makes the kind of pop that refuses to sit still. The London based singer, rapper and producer describes her own style as "maximalist", and that tracks: her debut album Earcandy pulls in influences from Hiatus Kaiyote and Justice to Nao and J Dilla, with a track co written by A.K. Paul that draws on Solange for good measure. Born to an English father and Japanese mother, she raps and sings bilingually, encouraged in part by Chai's playful approach to mixing Japanese and English. She built momentum quickly after her 2022 debut EP Great Taste, signing to Transgressive Records and releasing the follow up MSG in 2023. Her single "Good Kisses", featuring Joseph Mount of Metronomy, earned a nomination for Best Independent Track at the AIM Independent Music Awards. Earcandy arrived in 2025, and that same year she made her Glastonbury debut and supported Sabrina Carpenter at BST Hyde Park.
