Mk.gee, the stage name of Michael Todd Gordon, makes music that sits somewhere between hazy dream pop and sharp guitar work, blending lo fi textures with R&B and soft psychedelia in a way that genuinely sounds like nobody else. He produces everything himself at home, which gives his records a consistent, deeply personal feel. His 2020 mixtape A Museum of Contradiction earned serious attention, with NME praising it as a release that merges genres from different worlds with both maturity and ease. His debut album Two Star & the Dream Police arrived in February 2024 and landed him on the Pitchfork list of best albums of the first half of the 2020s. That same year he performed on both Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Saturday Night Live. Beyond his own releases, Gordon has co written and produced tracks for Omar Apollo, Dijon, Fred Again, Bon Iver, and Justin Bieber, including a song that hit number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
