About
Also known as: Mogwa
Mogwai have spent nearly three decades proving that you don't need words to hit people hard. The Glasgow post rock band built their reputation on sprawling, guitar driven instrumentals that swing between hushed melodic passages and walls of distortion, and that approach has kept them one of the most compelling acts in the genre. Their tenth album, As the Love Continues, hit number one on the UK Albums Chart in February 2021, a milestone that felt long overdue for a band this consistently excellent. Over the years their sound has grown more expansive, pulling in electronics and spacious arrangements without losing the raw power that made them. Rock Action featured vocal contributions from David Pajo, Gruff Rhys and Gary Lightbody, while Mr Beast earned comparisons to My Bloody Valentine's Loveless from Creation Records founder Alan McGee. They run their own label, Rock Action Records, and have kept their recorded output uncompromising from start to finish.
