About
Momma makes the kind of indie rock that sticks with you: big melodies stacked on top of fuzz heavy riffs, with a collaborative songwriting approach that keeps things feeling alive. The Brooklyn based duo of Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten built their reputation steadily across a run of albums, with 2022's Household Name on Polyvinyl earning them serious critical attention. Stereogum put it well, noting they "write big melodies, and they pair those melodies with pedal mashing fuzz riffs," which is about as good a summary as you'll find. Their back catalog includes the debut Interloper from 2018 and the concept album Two of Me, which imagined small town life in an alternate reality and was recorded during college summer breaks. Opening for Weezer on their Indie Rock Road Trip tour in 2023 introduced them to bigger crowds, and they kept the momentum going with their fourth album, Welcome to My Blue Sky, released in 2025.
