About
Momoyo is a five piece indie band from Ghent, Belgium, built around the kind of sound that feels most alive after dark: nocturnal beats, vintage synthesizers, string arrangements, and a voice that cuts right through you. The group brings together Jonas Bruyneel, Esther Coorevits, Frie Mechele, Renaud Debruyne, and Sven Sabbe, all of whom also play in various other Belgian acts. They made their first impression in 2020 with a debut EP that earned airplay on both Radio 1 and Studio Brussel. Their debut album Gaps in Time, released on Starman Records in 2022, took them on tour through Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK. An intimate reworking of existing material followed in the EP Mirror Session, put out on Wellington Records. Across all of it, they have racked up close to one and a half million streams and drawn positive press both at home and abroad.
