Few artists can claim three number one singles from a single album, but Monica pulled that off with The Boy Is Mine in 1998, which remains her best seller to this day. The title track, a duet with Brandy produced by Rodney Jerkins, won her a Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, and the album also spawned "The First Night" and "Angel of Mine" as chart toppers. The Atlanta bred pop and R&B singer has kept a remarkable consistency across her career, landing albums on the Billboard 200 from her 1995 debut Miss Thang all the way through to Code Red in 2015. Her 2003 set After the Storm was her first to debut at number one on that chart, led by the single "So Gone". With over 25 million records sold worldwide and a Billboard ranking among the top female solo artists of the 1990s, Monica holds a genuine place in the canon of contemporary R&B.
