Mousse T., the Hagen born DJ and producer whose real name is Mustafa Gündoğdu, helped put German house music on the map in the 1990s alongside peers like Boris Dlugosch and Ian Pooley. His 1998 track "Horny '98" went all the way to the top of the Billboard dance charts and cracked the Top 20 in the UK and Australia, and his co write and production on Tom Jones' "Sex Bomb" made him a household name far beyond the club scene. He co founded Peppermint Jam Records with partner Errol Rennalls, a label built around uplifting house and acid jazz. His credits stretch well beyond those two signature tracks. He produced Zucchero's summer hit "Il Grande Baboomba" and even performed at the Royal Albert Hall alongside the Italian singer. Later he scored Marc Rothemund's film Pornorama and composed the Sanremo entry "Apri tutte le porte" for Gianni Morandi, written by Jovanotti. In 2020 Traxsource ranked him the number one house artist of the year.
