About
Municipal Waste have been tearing through crossover thrash since forming in Richmond, Virginia in 2000, drawing from the raw energy of D.R.I., Suicidal Tendencies, and Nuclear Assault. Vocalist Tony Foresta and guitarist Ryan Waste are the only constant members through a series of lineup shifts, with the current crew rounded out by bassist Land Phil, drummer Dave Witte, and lead guitarist Nick Poulos. Their seven studio albums trace a steady climb from underground cult favourites to a genuine force in metal at large, hitting number one on the US Heatseekers chart with The Fatal Feast in 2012. The Art of Partying landed them front cover spots on Metal Maniacs and top five album of the year placement in Sweden's Close Up magazine. They also contributed to the soundtrack of the 2010 Splatterhouse remake. Their most recent studio album, Electrified Brain, got a full stream treatment in 2024, keeping the band very much in the conversation for fans of fast, riff heavy metal punk.
