Few Arab artists can claim 10 billion TikTok views on a single dance challenge, but Myriam Fares pulled it off with her 2018 track "Goumi," a song she built around an invitation for women to get up and dance. The Lebanese singer, actress and entertainer has been a force in Arab pop since her debut in 2003, earning the title "Queen of the Stage" for the kind of choreography heavy live shows that set her apart from the crowd. Her fifth studio album Aman broke streaming records on Anghami, and in 2021 Netflix made her the first Arab artist to land a documentary on the platform, with "Myriam Fares: The Journey" hitting number one in multiple countries. She has never stayed in one lane for long. Her 2008 Khaleeji dialect single "Moukanoh Wein" showed an early taste for blending Gulf musical tradition with contemporary pop, and she has continued crossing borders ever since. That instinct paid off in a big way when she teamed up with Nicki Minaj and Maluma for "Tukoh Taka," the official FIFA World Cup single in 2022.
