Few Brazilian musicians have had a run quite like Nando Reis. Born José Fernando Gomes dos Reis, he spent years as the bassist and one of the lead singers of Titãs, one of Brazil's most iconic rock bands, before carving out a rich solo career backed by his group Os Infernais. Along the way he produced records for Marisa Monte and Cássia Eller, whose Acústico MTV album he produced and appeared on, earning a Latin Grammy for Best Brazilian Rock Album in 2002. By 2012, ECAD had him ranked among the top ten Brazilian artists for copyright earnings, and he later topped the ranking for music played in public places. His solo catalogue stretches across several albums, from the early 12 de Janeiro through to Drês, which holds some of his most personal writing, including tributes to his mother and his daughter Sophia. His song Pra Você Guardei o Amor, a duet with Ana Cañas, became one of his most beloved tracks. He has also kept live work central to his output, with two MTV produced concert albums under his belt.
