Neal Morse has spent decades making progressive rock on his own terms, co founding Spock's Beard with his brother Alan in the early nineties and helping turn it into one of the genre's standout acts. In 1999 he joined forces with Mike Portnoy, Roine Stolt and Pete Trewavas to form the supergroup Transatlantic, a collaboration that has produced five studio albums. After becoming a born again Christian in 2002, Morse left Spock's Beard and threw himself into a prolific solo career built around sprawling concept albums, starting with the deeply personal Testimony in 2003. He has never stayed still for long. Beyond Transatlantic and his solo work, Morse has been part of the Beatles tribute outfit Yellow Matter Custard, the melodic rock band Flying Colors, and the Neal Morse Band, whose concept records The Similitude of a Dream and The Great Adventure won over prog fans worldwide. Most recently he launched Neal Morse and The Resonance, a Tennessee based project whose debut No Hill for a Climber arrived in late 2024, followed swiftly by Cosmic Cathedral, a new band with Chester Thompson, Phil Keaggy and Byron House.
