About
Nebula came out of Fu Manchu when guitarist Eddie Glass and drummer Ruben Romano split from that band in 1997, and they quickly carved out their own corner of stoner rock with a heavier, fuzzed out psychedelic sound. Their early releases on Sub Pop, To the Center and Charged, built a solid cult following, and later records like Atomic Ritual, produced by Chris Goss, kept the momentum going through the mid 2000s. After going on indefinite hiatus around 2010, Glass eventually brought the band back together in 2017 with a refreshed lineup. The reunion led to Holy Shit in 2019 and Transmission from Mothership Earth in 2022, both on Heavy Psych Sounds Records, proving the band still had plenty of gas in the tank. Sadly, the band has endured real loss in recent years, with longtime bassist Tom Davies passing away in 2023 and touring bassist Ranch Sironi dying in 2024.
