Nick Jonas built his name as part of the Jonas Brothers before stepping out on his own, and his 2014 self titled solo record made clear he wasn't just riding the band's coattails. The single "Jealous" hit the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100 and showed a sharper, more mature pop sound than anything the brothers had done together. His 2016 follow up Last Year Was Complicated peaked at number two on the Billboard 200, cementing him as a genuine solo act. He collaborated with Tove Lo on "Close" and teamed up with Robin Schulz for "Right Now" in 2018, leaning into a sleeker, electronic influenced pop direction. The Jonas Brothers eventually reunited in 2019, and Jonas has kept both lanes open since, releasing the solo album Spaceman in 2021 and continuing to record with his brothers.
