Nielson, the stage name of Niels Littooij from Dordrecht, has carved out a real presence in Dutch pop with his warm, witty brand of Nederpop and singer songwriter material. He first caught attention with the singles Hoe, a duet with Miss Montreal, and Mannenharten alongside BLØF, the latter written for a film of the same name. His debut album Zo van aah yeah landed at number two on the Dutch album charts in 2014, and the single Sexy als ik dans crossed the border to become a number one hit in Flanders. His third album Diamant arrived in 2018 and earned him two Edison awards, one for the album itself in the Dutch language category and one for the track IJskoud as best song. A fourth album followed, then NIELS in 2023, featuring collaborations with Sarita Lorena, MAXIME and Sigourney K. He has also done time as a TV personality, serving as a judge on the RTL 4 show It Takes 2 and competing on Wie is de Mol? in 2019.
