Noa, born Achinoam Nini, is an Israeli singer songwriter who has recorded in an extraordinary range of languages, from Hebrew and Arabic to Sardinian, Galician and Neapolitan. Her sound blends the singer songwriter sensibilities of artists like Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell with her own Yemenite roots and the jazz and classical rock background of her longtime guitarist and collaborator Gil Dor. She was the first Israeli artist to perform at the Vatican, singing Ave Maria before a live crowd of 100,000 and a TV audience of millions. Her career has taken her to Carnegie Hall, the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Rome Colosseum and dozens of other major venues across 52 countries. She recorded the theme for Roberto Benigni's Oscar winning film Life Is Beautiful and contributed to the original French cast recording of Notre Dame de Paris. In 2009 she represented Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest alongside Arab Israeli singer Mira Awad, performing the duet There Must Be Another Way.
