About
Old Mervs are a two piece from Western Australia, and the name is a nod to a pet dog called Mervin. David House handles guitar and vocals, Henry Carrington Jones plays drums and sings backing vocals, and together they make a loose, sun soaked brand of Australian indie surf rock. They started playing together in 2017 and settled on the name a year later. Things picked up fast. Their debut EP Get Better arrived in October 2022, followed by Give It Up in November 2023, which landed at number 33 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Two singles have cracked triple J's Hottest 100: Sweetheart in 2023 and What You've Lost in 2024. A self titled debut album came out in March 2025, and they played Lollapalooza that same year. They've also been announcing a second album, Carparks, with singles like Heavy in the Morning, Tether and She Said leading the way.
