Oscar Mulero has been one of the most quietly influential figures in European techno for over three decades. Based in Madrid, he helped shape the Spanish electronic scene from the early 1990s onward, and his productions in the early 2000s cemented his reputation as a serious force in underground techno. His sound leans into the darker, more industrial end of the spectrum, and he has kept that aesthetic consistent across a sprawling discography that spans minimal techno and dub techno as well. He runs two labels, Warm Up Recordings and PoleGroup Recordings, each with over 100 releases to their name. His 2012 album Black Propaganda earned strong praise from the online techno community, and he has kept a steady output going since, releasing records on respected labels like Token, Hospital Productions and Semantica Records well into the 2020s.
