About
Panic Room grew out of the ashes of Karnataka, formed in 2006 by four former members of that band plus bassist Alun Vaughan. The Welsh progressive rock group put out their debut Visionary Position in 2008, followed by Satellite, which came with a bonus disc of extra songs from the sessions. Later albums include SKIN and Incarnate, and they even crowdfunded an acoustic record called Essence through Kickstarter. The band has been a busy web of side projects. Songwriters Anne Marie Helder and Jonathan Edwards also work as the acoustic duo Luna Rossa, and Edwards teamed up with ex Karnataka vocalist Rachel Cohen for Three Colours Dark. Gavin Griffiths has drummed with Fish, formerly of Marillion. In 2017 they released Screens, a live film shot in London by the team behind concert films for Marillion and Jon Lord. Helder, Edwards and Griffiths carried on as the core trio after 2018.
