About
Popkoor Vocal Sound has been bringing pop music to the stage for 35 years, performing with a live combo and working in the occasional dance move along the way. The choir is led by conductor Hendrikje Soethout, and their performances feature a combo expanded with a brass section, giving their sound a full, celebratory feel. Their repertoire spans feel good pop numbers that audiences tend to remember fondly from earlier shows. Singing is very much the glue that holds Vocal Sound together, and their sets aim to cover the full emotional spectrum, joy, sorrow, sunshine and rain all get a look in. Their theatrical shows mix familiar favourites with newer material, keeping things fresh while staying true to the energetic, crowd friendly style that has defined the choir across three and a half decades.
