About
Prateek Kuhad writes the kind of songs that stick around long after the playlist ends. The Jaipur born singer songwriter blends indie folk with Americana leaning acoustic sounds, singing in both Hindi and English, and his track "cold/mess" famously landed on Barack Obama's favourite music list for 2019, which put him on a lot of radars well outside India. He was also the first Indian artist to be signed by Elektra Records, and his song "Kasoor" remains one of his most beloved cuts. His third album, The Way That Lovers Do, arrived in 2022, followed by "Co2" and the more recent "Mulaqat", a collaboration with actor Tara Sutaria. His primary instrument is the acoustic guitar, though he brings in piano and electric guitar too. His lyrics lean vague by design, circling around love and relationships in ways that leave room for the listener to fill in the blanks.
