When Chai Met Toast brings a warm, breezy sound to India's indie scene, blending folk and alternative vibes across English, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. The Kochi formed four piece, made up of Ashwin Gopakumar, Achyuth Jaigopal, Palee Francis, and Pai Sailesh, has carved out a niche with music that leans cheerful and easy going without feeling lightweight. Spotify picked them up as a rising act through their RADAR program, and their single Break Free landed on VH1 India's top 50 hit videos list. They also wrote the soundtrack for comedian Kenny Sebastian's 2018 web series Die Trying, and their music turned up in the trailer for Farhan Akhtar's Bollywood project Jee Le Zaraa. More recently, they contributed to the films Friday Night Plan and Do Aur Do Pyaar, showing a growing presence in Indian cinema alongside their festival circuit regulars like Bacardi NH7 Weekender and SulaFest.
