Prime Circle are a rock band from Witbank, South Africa who have quietly built one of the more impressive careers to come out of the country, racking up eight studio albums and multiple gold and platinum certifications at home. Their first two records, released on independent label David Gresham Records, are credited with locking in the sound that defines them. Later signed to EMI Music South Africa, they kept pushing outward, eventually landing a European deal and a German agent who helped them onto serious festival stages. The band has shared bills with Iron Maiden, Iggy Pop, Rammstein, Slayer and Black Sabbath, played the UEFA Champions League Festival in Milan, and headlined the Hamburg Harley Days. Their single Doors earned them MTV Africa Music Award nominations, and in 2023 Afri Indie handed them the Rock Royalty Award. Their most recent studio album, The World We Know, came out in 2024, with Gavin Edwards stepping in as lead vocalist.
