About

Pub Choir turns a night at the pub into a full on choral performance, and somehow it works brilliantly. Founded in Brisbane in 2017 by Astrid Jorgensen, the concept is simple: buy a ticket, show up, learn a three part harmony arrangement of a well known song on the night, then perform it together while the cameras roll. No musical experience required. Jorgensen even developed her own colour coded, visually comedic notation system so anyone can follow along. What started with 80 people singing Dave Dobbyn at a Brisbane pub has grown into something genuinely hard to ignore. A viral cover of The Cranberries' 'Zombie' got shared by the band themselves, Kate Bush called their 'Running Up That Hill' video 'utterly, utterly wonderful', and guests ranging from Paul Kelly to Meg Mac have stepped up to perform. Pub Choir has since played the Commonwealth Games, Splendour In The Grass, and events across Australia, New Zealand, the US and England. Their Christmas fundraisers have raised over half a million dollars for Women's Legal Service Queensland alone.
