Quelle Chris has been quietly building one of the most distinctive catalogs in underground hip hop, with over 15 albums as a solo act and through collaborative projects. Born Gavin Tennille, he came up in the Detroit scene, catching the ear of legends like J Dilla and Proof before carving out his own lane as both a rapper and producer. His credits stretch across Danny Brown's early records and production work for Pharoahe Monch, Open Mike Eagle and Diamond District, which gives you a sense of how deep his network runs. His 2018 collab album Everything's Fine, made with his partner Jean Grae, is a fan favorite, blending sharp wit with genuinely inventive production. His 2019 solo effort Guns pushed things in a heavier, more focused direction, and Innocent Country 2 pulled in a stellar cast including Earl Sweatshirt and Billy Woods. His 2022 album Deathfame, a 14 tracker he produced almost entirely himself, showed he has no intention of slowing down.
